I've always been fascinated by angels - Unite Hope angel in Vallersund

The Unite Hope angel was created by the Swedish artist Lehna Edwall. The sculpture is the symbol of the Unite Hope Project, a movement that was initiated with the intention of spreading boundless and unifying love, light and hope to all mankind. The project began in September 2005, when the seven original Unite Hope angels were simultaneously set up in Vanuatu, Australia, Mali, Russia, Peru, Canada and Hawaii, as a gift to the places and their people. The goal is to form a network of 49 angels.
This angel is the 13th in the project and a gift to the people in Vallersund, Norway.

I've always been fascinated by angels. They remain invisible to our normal materialistic consciousness so that we do not really know how to relate to them. Neither theologians, nor scientists are able to comprehend them. It is perhaps only the children, the artists, or you and me who can figure them out. I have spent two years trying to figure out especially one of them, namely the Unite Hope Angel of Vallersund.

It started in July 2007, when I received an assignment from Lehna Edwall and Katharina Karlsson. Katharina, a close friend of mine, lives and works in a home for people with intellectual disabilities, called Haganäs in Järna, outside of Stockholm. This home is similar to where I, myself, live and work, in Vallersund Gård. In Haganäs, they have a cement workshop that casts Unite Hope sculptures. Katharina had shown me these fine art pieces and I had read an article about the project in an SAS magazine. Then the question came "Would I like to set up this figure in Norway?" Together with Katharina a preliminary plan was made for a joint Norwegian ...
